Danville throttles Vinemont, clinches sub-regional berth

Danville took control from the opening tip and defeated Vinemont 66-17 to advance to the Class 3A, Area 13 championship game Saturday at 2 p.m. at home.

The Lady Hawks will face Good Hope, which defeated Hanceville 33-26 in the nightcap Thursday.

Sydni Shelton and Charlee Anderson led the way with 17 points and 15 points respectively. Anderson also had eight rebounds in the win.

McKayla Stover added eight points followed by Tabetha Hutto with seven points, Shelia Cordova with four, Erin Cleghorn with four, Morgan Weatherwax with three, Tara Tuck with three, Gracie George with three and Alexcis Smith with two.
