A manufactured home that lost power during a Feb. 12 snowstorm was heavily damaged by a fire of unknown origin on Friday at noon.

No one was at the home at the time, but two dogs were inside when firefighters put down the last flames. The residence is located at 116 Orchid Private Drive, which is near the intersection of Alabama 36 and Mt. Tabor Road.

The fire originated in the kitchen area where the greatest damage was done.

Somerville Area Volunteer Emergency Service and Hartselle Fire and Rescue responded to the fire call.

Owner Marti Pearson Jr. said no one was in the home Thursday night because power was lost during to Wednesday night’s snowstorm.

He said the home was not insured.
