The City of Hartselle will resume normal garbage pickup Monday after being affected by this week’s snowstorms.

Mayor Don Hall said the public works department is expecting to pick up additional trash. Thus, the city is asking residents to put any excess trash that won’t fit in their containers in garbage bags and place them next to the containers.

“We will have additional personnel on garbage trucks to help pick up the additional trash,” Hall said. “I’m sure that many people will have much more garbage than normal since we were unable to pick up trash several days this week. They just need to bag it up and put it next to the containers.”

Hall said garbage pickup didn’t run Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday due to the inclement weather.

“We didn’t want something to happen while they were picking up garbage on those days,” Hall said. “It was just a safety decision.”
