Run for Life slated for March 15

Run for Life, a 5k and one-mile fun run will be March 15, at the Hartselle Tabernacle.

Entry fees for the 5k is $20 for pre-registration and $25 after March 9. The fee for the one-mile run is $15 for pre-registration and $20 after March 9.

Packets can be picked up Fri., March 14, at West Hartselle Baptist Church from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. or on race day beginning at 7 a.m. at the chapel at the Tabernacle.

The 5k starts at 8 a.m. and the one-mile fun run will start at 9:15 a.m. The awards ceremony will follow at 9:45 a.m.

The course will be a road race around the streets adjacent to Tabernacle Road, J.P. Cain Stadium and Hartselle Intermedi-ate School. There will be two water stations near the one-mile and two-mile markers.

Awards will be given in the 5k for overall top finishers, master’s top competitors and the top three male and female finishers in each age division. (Overall winners are not eligible for age group awards). Age divisions are 0-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70 and over.

This year, T-shirts will be given to all runners who pre-register by March 9 only. Online registration is available at active.com/hartselle-al/running/run-for-life-2014.

Runners may pre-register at West Hartselle Baptist Church or by mailing the entry form and fee to: West Hartselle Baptist Church, Attn: Jon Anderson or Mark Shaw, 1640 Main St. W., Hartselle, AL 35640. Make checks payable to West Hartselle Baptist Church.

All proceeds go to Morgan-Hartselle Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society.
