Morgan REALTORS® receive ARPAC award
The Alabama Association of REALTORS® honored the Morgan County Association of REALTORS® with the Robert C. Meeks Alabama REALTOR® Political Action Committee (ARPAC) Award at the association’s 2014 winter conference in Montgomery.
The Robert C. Meeks ARPAC Award recognizes the local Board that best exemplifies the very level of passion, commitment and energy to political affairs, political action and fundraising that made Bob Meeks one of the most beloved members of the Alabama Association of REALTORS®.
Board submissions were evaluated in seven areas of ARPAC fund raising, four areas of governmental affairs activity, five areas of legislative activity, and for monitoring local real estate industry issues.
The Morgan County Association became very involved in raising funds for ARPAC and had 70 percent of their membership participating in giving to ARPAC with an average contribution of $200. They monitored and attended city council and county commission meetings and stayed on top of regulations regarding real estate.
The Robert C. Meeks ARPAC Award was created in honor and remembrance of Bob Meeks, a Sylacauga REALTOR®, who was nationally recognized for his commitment and dedication to ARPAC. He was a REALTOR® Land Institute member, ARPAC chairman twice and led AAR to become one of the most involved and successful associations in state and federal governmental and political affairs.
