County sets incentives hearing
Morgan County Commission set a public hearing for Tuesday at 9 a.m. to hear comments on a proposed commitment of contributing $1 million in five annual installments of $200,000 as part of a local incentive package for the location of Remington Outdoor Co. in Huntsville.
The proposal will be considered for adoption after the hearing.
Remington officials announced last month it will renovate and occupy the old Chrysler manufacturing plant near Huntsville International Airport. The company has pledged to hire nearly 10,000 workers within eight years of production.
“We have been assured by officials that Morgan County residents will get a fair share of the jobs,” said Commission Chairman Ray Long. “Their jobs represent the breakthrough we’ve been seeking to stimulate economic growth in our area.”
