Secretary of State to visit Morgan County

Alabama Secretary of State Jim Bennett and staff will be making stops in Hartselle and Somerville to begin the mobile site visits for the production of photo voter ID cards. The schedule of those visits was released today.

“Voters can always get a free voter ID at their Board of Registrars office in their county or in the Secretary of State’s office. What we are trying to do with these mobile site visits is get to some of the more remote areas of the county to make this process convenient for all voters,” Bennett explained.

One stop will be at Sparkman Civic Center March 26 from 9 a.m. to noon. The other stop will follow at the Somerville Community Center from 1–4 p.m.

“We hope that registered voters within the community will take part in these mobile visits,” said Bennett.

For more info on the process on how to receive a free voter ID, voters can call 1-800-274-VOTE or go to www.alabamavoterid.com.
