Funeral for Bobby R King, 76, of Hartselle will be Sat., March 22, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Penn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Mt Zion Cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., March 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mr. King died on Thur., March 20, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born April 13, 1937, in Morgan County to Gilbert Eugene King, Sr. and Mary Eugie Ward King. He was a member and deacon of Mt. Zion Baptist Church. He retired from Monsanto in 1992 after 36 years of service and he owned and operated Kings Antiques. He loved his children and grandchildren dearly. Mr. King was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Eugene King; and a sister, Hilma Murphy.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Carrie Lee Thompson King of Hartselle; two daughters, Belinda Ealey (Larry) of Hartselle and Kimberley King of Decatur; a brother, Ronnie King (Linda) of Hartselle; four sisters, Ruth Burch of Hartselle, Shirley Howard (Sonny) of Huntsville, Betty Randolph (Gerald) of Texas and Nell Dobbins (Bobby) of Hartselle; four grandchildren, John Hardin, James Hardin, Brandon Colwell and Brandy Hyche; two great-grandchildren, James Hyche and Aubrey Hyche
Pallbearers will be Dale Burch, Tim Tucker, Jason Hyche, Todd Thompson, Tim Sivley and Bobby Dobbins.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial donations be made to Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Building Fund.
