Falkville council votes funds for capital projects
Falkville Town Council approved the withdrawal of $82,133.25 from the State Trust Fund Account to fund two capital improvement projects at a regular meeting on April 1.
Of that amount, $69,264.24 will be used to purchase and install a generator at a sewage lift station and the remaining $$12,869 will be used to make drainage improvements on Buster Road.
The governing body also authorized the vacation of an unused, dedicated portion of Fourth Avenue.
The street was dedicated in 1898 but never developed, according to town attorney Larry Madison.
He said vacating the street would not affect drainage or utility easements.
