Hartselle softball goes splits games at end of week
Hartselle 9, Henry Clay 0
Taylor Wascavage, Hope Cain and Madeline Sittason racked up two hits each in a 9-0 win over Henry Clay Thursday.
Ashley Boggs, Sarah Ellen Battles, Jada Hayes, Hannah Jenkins and Ali Forth all had hits for Hartselle.
Hope Cain allowed just two hits with nine strikeouts in the shutout.
Hartselle 6, Tuscaloosa Co. 2
Taylor Wascavage went 4-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Hannah Jenkins was 2-for-3 while Ashley Boggs, Sarah Ellen Battles, Jada Hayes, Madeline Sittason and Sydnee Wiley each had hits. Hayes had two RBIs while Hope Cain had one RBI.
Hayes earned the win with eight strikeouts and allowing one earned run on six hits.
Hartselle 6, White House (Tenn.) 0
Hannah Jenkins had a solo home run and Wascavage, Hayes and Wiley each went 2-for-3 to help lead the Lady Tigers.
Cain and Sittason each had two RBIs on one hit while Battles had one run scored on one hit.
Hayes struck out 15 batters to get the three-hit shutout.
Mortimer Jordan 4, Hartselle 2
The Lady Tigers allowed three runs in the first inning that proved to be the difference.
Hayes had a two-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to cut the lead to 3-2. Wascavage added a double and Cain scored the only other hit.
Cain took the loss, allowing three runs on two hits and one walk. Only one of the runs was earned.
Hayes allowed just two hits and one unearned run with a strikeout.
