Priceville Bulldogs sweep doubleheader

Priceville’s Bulldogs picked up two area wins by defeating East Lawrence 14-3 and 8-1 on the road April 1.

In the opener, the Bulldogs capitalized on 13 hits while holding their opponent to one.

Justin Dozier led the way with a triple, double and single, four RBIs and scored twice. Milik Orr blasted two doubles, had an RBI and scored two runs, Cody Barber had two singles, three RBIs and scored twice, Weston Hopkins singled twice, had an RBI and scored a run, Kaleb Barker had two singes and scored two runs, and Tyler Charest had a single, two RBIs and scored twice.

Phillip Goodwin was the winning pitcher. He allowed no hits while striking out three batters and walking one in five innings.

In the nightcap, the Bulldogs collected 15 hits in an 8-1 win over East Lawrence.

Cody Barber led the Bulldogs in hitting with a double, two singles, an RBI and two runs scored. Five other players had multiple hits. Weston Hopkins had a dub le, single three RBIs and scored a run, Milik Orr singled twice and had three RBIs, Justin Dozier doubled, singled and scored a run, Aaron Cartee had two singles and scored a run, Tyler Chariest doubled, singled and scored a run and Landon Eddy had an RBI single and scored a run.

Jacob Crow was the winning pitcher, allowing one run on four hits while striking out seven batters and walking one.

East Lawrence 9, Priceville 3

Landon Eddy, Tyler Charest, Cody Barber and Jacob Vehrs had the hits for Priceville in a loss to East Lawrence.

Milik Orr and Kaleb Barker and one and two strikeouts respectively with each pitching two innings.

Phillip Goodwin had two scoreless innings on the mound fro Priceville.

Austin 5, Priceville 2

Cody Barber had two hits  and scored one run, but it wasn’t enough for the Bulldogs.

Kaleb Barker, Weston Hopkins and Aaron Cartee had hits.

Stone Patterson took the loss, allowing three runs on three hits with two walks and a strikeout. He lastest six and one-third innings. Aubrey Richardson allowed two more runs on two hits.

Austin 3, Priceville 0

Barker was 2-for-3 and had four strikeouts, but it wasn’t enough for the Bulldogs.

Tyler Charest, Cody Barber and Hunter Cowan had the other hits.

Tyler Green, Eli Freeman and Lane McCulloch all had scoreless innings for the Bulldogs.
