Priceville holds off Lady Blue Devils

Falkville’s Lady Blue Devils managed only three runs on 11 hits while Priceville’s Lady Bulldogs had 12 hits to get the win.

Abby St, John led the way with a 3-for-4 effort with two runs scored and two RBIs. All she needed was a home run to complete the cycle.

Alison Varner and Heather Owens were both 2-for-4 while McKenzie Parker, Sara Beth Wilson, Jenna Blankenship, Maggie Yambrek and Madison Beddingfield had hits.

Beddingfield earned the wins, by allowing just two three runs on Falkville’s hits.

Alexis Casteel paced Falkville at the plate with a double, single, two RBIs and scored a run. Bailey Anders had two singles and scored a run, Callie Garner doubled, Emily Gray singled and had an RBI, Cheyenne Wilson and Lyndsey Moore each had two singles and Paige Garner singled.

Callie Garner was the losing pitcher. She allowed five runs on 12 hits while striking out one batter and walking two.

 

Haleyville 18, Priceville 7

 

Priceville’s Lady Bulldogs collected eight hits but fell to Haleyville, 18-0, on the road April 1.

Abby St. John, Maggie Yambreck, McKenzie Parker and Abi Melendez each had a double for Priceville. Jenna Blakenship had a pair of single and Allison Varner and Mia Grantland each singled. Madison Beddingfield was the losing pitcher. She allowed 13 runs on 11 his while striking out two batters and walking two. St. John pitched one and one-third innings in relief. She allowed five runs on three hits while walking three batters.
