Sheriff’s deputies arrest sex offender

Published 12:18pm Monday, April 7, 2014

Morgan County deputies arrested John Milton Hale, 51, on a felony warrant for “convicted sex offender” failure to register a move on March 28.

A press release from Morgan County Sheriff Ana Franklin indicates that investigator Pete Taylor received information from local citizens indicating that the familiar sex offender had returned to a Hartselle home after being arrested at the same address in February 2013 on similar felony warrant.

This sparked an investigation, which included surveillance headed by the Morgan County Sheirff’s special victims unit. Investigators coordinated with Hartselle Police, U.S. Marshall’s agents and Morgan County patrol deputies to prove that Hale was residing at 809 Short Street. He has failed to register his recent move from Addison, where he is currently registered.

Hale remains in Morgan County Jail under a $2,500 bond.
