Dorothy Turney Parsons

Funeral for Dorothy Turney Parsons, 84, of Falkville will be Thur., April 10, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Anthony Patterson officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Cook Cemetery.

Mrs. Parsons died Mon., April 7, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born March 11, 1930, in Morgan County to Lemme Rivers Turney and Susan Opal Sterling Turney. She attended Gum Springs Baptist Church where she was very active in the Mary Martha Class. She always wanted to be sure that everyone had something to eat, because she loved to cook. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Rex, Virgil and Bobby; and five sisters, Nell, Vivian, Johnnie, Hazel and Dean.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Parsons of Falkville; a son, Sterling Lewis Parsons (Linda) of Madison; two brothers, Fletcher Turney (Patricia) of Athens and Ray Turney (Rhonda) of Cookeville, Tenn.; a sister, Mildred McNutt of Hartselle; a grandchild, Carla Browning; and a great-grandchild, Kaelyn; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be deacons, Jimmy Maze, Norman Grant, Wayne Looney, Bobby Ashley, Dale Maples and Mike Winton.
