Area churches make plans for Easter services

The following is a tribute to my friend Steve Jackson:

I want to honor the memory of my friend Steve Jackson who recently passed away. Steve loved attending auctions in the Hartselle area and previewing items on Sunday, with his friends, Charlie Rutledge, Alice and Larry Nace, Ann Clemons and Susan Jones. Alice and Larry Nace say that to them Steve was a very dear friend who shared his vast knowledge of antiques with them. He was always fun to be around. Larry and Alice say that there aren’t many days that go by that they don’t think of Steve and miss him so much.

Another friend, Linda Clemons says that she met Steve at the Spinning Wheel during Depot Days in 2011 and later was around him at auctions where they became good friends. Steve, according to Linda, was amusing and so much fun to be around. Having grown up in a family of five girls, we told Steve that he could be our brother and he loved that. There will always be an empty place in my heart and life for Steve.

Also missing Steve is his long time good friend, Kay Farrer. Kay says that she misses the friendship that she and Steve shared for many years.

I will miss Steve, who always called me Marthee and teased me when he was around. He also enjoyed his friendship with Margaret Whitaker, who he always called Gertrude and enjoyed making her laugh. Also missing Steve is his friend, Shirley Jarrett, who he always joked with and enjoyed talking to. You will always be remembered Steve and never forgotten.
