Falkville’s Blue Devils defeated area foe St Bernard 12-0 April 8 to clinch the area championship.

The Blue Devils will host the first round of the Class 1A playoffs.

Falkville had hits from seven different players. Dallas Mayer led the way with a double, single, three RBIs and scored a run. Hunter Woodall had a pair of singles, two RBIs and scored twice, Taylor Steele had a two-RBI double and scored two runs, Adam Keenum had two singles and scored twice, Colin Eason had two singles and a RBI, Tanner Evans had anRBI single and scored a run and Alston Howard singled.

Ryan Bradford was the winning pitcher. He allowed no runs on four hits while striking out three batters and walking one.

Falkville 10-2, West Morgan 7-3

The Blue Devils split a doubleheader with the Rebels Thursday.

In the 10-7 win, Collin Eason went 3-for-5 with two RBIs to pace the Blue Devils’ offense.

Adam Keenum was 2-for-5 with three RBIs while Taylor Steele scored twice and drove in one run with a hit. Ryan Bradford, Tanner Evans, Dallas Mayer and Tyler Woodall had singles.

Falkville broke a 7-7 tie with three runs in the top of the seventh inning. Keenum put the Blue Devils ahead thanks to a two-out double. He then scored the final run after Eason reached on an error.

Evans calmed down the West Morgan bats to get the win. He didn’t allow a run in the final two and two-thirds innings. He allowed one hit and three walks with three strikeouts.

Dallas Mayer allowed four earned runs on six hits with three walks and a strikeout. Taylor Steele went one and one-third innings and allowed a run on one hit with two walks and two strikeouts. In the 3-2 loss, Keenum had the only hit in the game.

Falkville scored its only runs after two walks and a hit batter loaded the bases in the top of the seventh inning. Tyler Woodall reached on an error to score Keenum and Colin Eason.

Alston Howard took the loss despite racking up seven strikeouts. He allowed three runs on seven hits with three walks.

Falkville 3, Randolph 2

Falkville’s Blue Devils scored a go-ahead run in the bottom of the seventh inning to edge Randolph, 3-2 in a home game April 12.

Taylor Steele led the charge with a pair of singles and a run scored. Tyler Woodall had a RBI single and scored a run, Hunter Woodall had a RBI single and Alston Howard, Ryan Bradford, Colin Eason and Dallas Mayer each added a single

Bradford was the winning pitcher. He allowed two runs on three hits.

Priceville wins two

Priceville’s Bulldogs pulled off back-to-back wins in the two games they played at home on Saturday.

They edged Russellville/ West Pont, 6-5 in the opener and defeated Ardmore, 9-5, in the second contest.

Cody Barber led the Bulldogs at the plate in the opener with a double, single, a RBI and scored two runs. Landon Eddy doubled and knocked in a run, Hunter Cowin had a two-RBI single and Weston Hopkins, Tyler Charest and Milik Orr and Aaron Cartee each singled. Orr was the winning pitcher.

In the win over Ardmore, Barber again had the hot bat. He tripled, doubled and singled, knocking in two runs and scoring two. Orr had a pair of singles, an RBI and scored a run, Justin Dozier had a two-RBI double and scored a run.

Stone Patterson was the winning pitcher. He allowed two runs on six hits while striking out two batters and walking one. Jacob Crow struck out one batter. and walking three.

Brooks 6, Priceville 5

Priceville’s Bulldogs out-hit their opponent 11-7 in a loss to Brooks on the road April 8.

Landon Eddy paced the Bulldogs in hitting with a double, two singles, a RBI and a run scored. Kaleb Barker had two hits, a double and single, a RBI and two runs scored. Cody Barber added two singles and two RBIs and Weston Hopkins, Zack Smith and Aaron Cartee each singled.

Eli Freeman was the losing pitcher. He allowed two runs on three hits while striking out one batter and walking one. Stone Patterson pitched three and one-third innings, allowing four runs on three hits while striking out five batters and walking two.

Brooks 12, Priceville 0

Priceville lost to Brooks, 12-0, in a road game on April 9.

The Bulldogs managed only four hits. Eddy, Charest, Barber and Goodwin each singled.
