Man faces trafficking charges
A man has been arrested following a chase that began in Morgan County after Morgan County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to stop a vehicle for a seatbelt violation.
Brian Keith Kennedy, 46, was arrested and charged with trafficking methamphetamine. He is being held in the Morgan County Jail with a bond of $5,000.
Saturday evening, deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on Hulaco Road for a seatbelt violation. The driver led deputies on a pursuit into Marshall County.
Marshall County deputies spiked the suspect’s car and flattened the tires. The chase ended at Mat Morrow Road and Evermore Road in Arab.
The suspect fled on foot and was later found hiding in a thicket with the help of a K-9. As deputies were arresting Kennedy, they observed several plastic bags of ice methamphetamine.
The Morgan County Drug Task Force was called to the scene and determined that Kennedy was in possession of 3 ounces of ice methamphetamine with a street value of about $4,000.
