Schools dismissing early

Hartselle and Morgan County schools will be releasing early today due to the threat of severe weather Monday.

Hartselle City Schools will be releasing at 1 p.m. while Morgan County Schools are releasing at 12:30 p.m.

Monday’s early school closing is also affecting kindergarten registration at all three Hartselle Elementary Schools. The registration time will close today at noon. Registration will continue as scheduled on Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Hartselle High School’s sectional golf tournament at Cypress Lakes has been rescheduled for Thursday at 11:30 a.m., with all groups teeing off on #1.

The Storm Prediction Center in Norman, Okla., has placed much of the Tennessee Valley in a moderate risk of severe weather during the day Monday.

Due to emerging severe weather conditions in northern Alabama, Redstone Arsenal will release its workforce beginning at 11 a.m., and will close the installation at 2 p.m., Monday, April 28, and will reopen no earlier than noon, Tuesday, April 29, 2014, pending weather conditions.

Child Development Centers will close at 1 pm and employees should pick up their kids prior to that time. Middle School/Teen and School Age Services will be closed.

Post restaurants will be closed on Tuesday, April 29.

AAFES Exchange activities will close at 1 p.m on Monday.

The Commissary is closed for business on Mondays.

The US Army Corp of Engineers, Huntsville Center, has no plans to close at this time.

All gates will remain open for outbound traffic until 6 p.m.  Gate 9 will remain open 24/7 for emergency traffic only. All other gates will be closed.

Redstone Arsenal contractors should follow the guidance stated in contracts regarding closures.

All employees should be in close contact with supervisors to ensure they have the latest information and instructions and should report their status to their supervisors on a regular basis for accountability.
