Hartselle Post Office announces food drive
Hartselle Post Office is participating in the 22nd annual National Association of Letter Carriers Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive Sat., May 10.
Postal patrons are being asked to donate canned and non-perishable food items, as well as toilet tissue, baby diapers, etc. for distribution to needy families in the Hartselle area.
The drive is a part of a national effort of the U.S. Postal Service to combat hunger among the nation’s poor and disadvantaged families. The food will be distributed to needy families through five different local agencies, including The Caring Place, Seeds of Love and Carpenter’s Cabinet.
Carriers for both city and rural routes will pick up donated food and household items as they make their regular mail runs on Saturday. Donations may also be dropped off at the post office service windows until noon on Saturday.
Carriers request that donations be bagged and placed on the ground next to their mailbox or inside the mailbox.
