Roan: Long lines due to issuing new tags

Morgan County license offices are experiencing delays in processing renewals due to changes in the issuance of new motor vehicle license plates and a state requirement for additional information.

“This means people are having to wait longer to get in and out of the license offices because our clerks are having to spend extra with each customer,” said Sue Baker Roan, License Commissioner.

“We’re required to verify the customer’s correct name and address with each license plate request, including current automobile insurance coverage.” she said. “We need to a valid driver’s license and proof of insurance before we can issue a tag and decal.”

“We realize that this is an inconvenience to the pubic,” she added, “and
we’re asking everyone to please be patient as we work through this change.”

For further information, contact the commissioner of licenses at 351-4770.
