COLUMN: Could not be prouder
I hope you do not mind that I am taking this space this week to share an accomplishment of my oldest son Jordan. As of Tuesday, May 6, 2014, Jordan will be a graduate of Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University. He has spent the last seven years working toward this goal and has succeeded very successfully.
While it is hard to believe he has completed his college career and now is ready to enter the world as a Doctor of Pharmacy, it actually seems that only yesterday we moved him to Auburn to begin college.
Along with that statement I can remember the day we found out Lynn and I would be having our first baby. We were both excited and surprised. On the day he was born, I don’t think I have been any happier, and it is true that you would never think you could love another person as much as you do your child.
We could not have been blessed more as parents than being giving the privilege of raising this young man. He has been a source of pride and joy for the past 25 years.
I cannot even begin to imagine what life would have been like without his being a part of it. I thank God for Jordan and Jacob and what they have meant to both of us.
Jordan has worked hard to reach this stage of his life. From the time he started kindergarten until he graduated high school, he has made education a priority in his life. He knew that in order to achieve his goals it would require hard work and dedication. When he entered Auburn that work ethic only increased and has resulted in the success he has achieved.
From listening to him talk about the time he has spent ad Auburn, I truly believe it has been time well spent and a decision well made. Jordan has grown into a fine young man and the time spent at Auburn has been a large part of this. From his professors, fraternity brothers, pharmacy school buddies, and to all who were a part of his time at Auburn, thank you for the contribution to the success he has enjoyed over the past seven years.
Jordan will be moving to Shreveport, La., after graduation to serve a year as a resident in order to complete his goal to be a hospital pharmacist.
Jordan, Mom and I could not be more proud of you. You have worked hard for this accomplishment and know we will always be there for you. May God continue to bless you as you move into this new part of your life. Love you always.
