Funeral for Lula Fowler Garnett Keel, 88, of Hartselle was Thur., May 22, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Randy Ashley officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Herring Cemetery.
Mrs. Keel died Tues., May 20, 2014, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Feb. 5, 1926, in Morgan County to William Harvey Fowler and Etha Elizabeth Weaver Fowler. She was formerly employed by Decatur Utilities Department as a personnel director and was a longtime member of Lebanon Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school classes and served on various committees for many years, serving God in many different ways. She loved her church and it was her family. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Raymond E. Garnett and Howard Keel; two brothers, Gilbert,Oliver and Albert Fowler; and four sisters, Ella Speegle, Lois Tapscott, Myrl Fowler and Mary Riethmaier.
She is survived by her caregiver and nephew, Mike Garnett (Lanett) of Hartselle; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were family members.
