Claude Earl Grigsby

Funeral for Claude Earl Grigsby, age 89, of Cleveland, will be Sat., May 31, at 11 a.m. at Cleveland First Baptist Church with Bro. Richard Dill officiating and Lemley Funeral Home and Crematory directing.

Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., May 30, at Lemley Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mr. Grigsby died May 28, 2014, at the Falkville Nursing Home. He was a WW II Veteran, serving in both the European and Asian Theaters of Operation. He graduated from Samford University, formerly Howard College. He attended New Orleans Theological Seminary and was an ordained Baptist Minister and an Associate Pastor of First Baptist Church of Gadsden. He also served as an Administrator of the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home for over 30 years. Preceding him in death were his parents, Harvey and Grace Walker Grigsby; brothers, Edward Grigsby and Bill Grigsby; sister, Lena Mae Tidwell.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl N. Grigsby of Hartselle; son, Edward Earl Grigsby (Angela) of Athens; daughters, Michelle Reburn (Terry) of Hartselle and Charlene Smith (Bob) of Knoxville, Tenn; brother, Benny “Joe” Grigsby (Phyllis) of Cleveland; seven grandchildren; and one great grandchild;

Pallbearers will be Robert Smith, Jonathan Grigsby, Nelson Reburn, Terry Reburn, Tom Reburn and Wayne Reburn.
