Priceville approves Fire Station #1 workPublished 4:03pm Tuesday, June 3, 2014
Another improvement project was approved for Priceville’s Fire Station #`1 at a rescheduled council meeting May 19.
The town council authorized an expenditure not to exceed $25,000 to form, pour and finish a concrete driveway and service apron at the station, which is located on Bethel Road.
Last month, the exterior of the facility received a fresh coat of red paint.
Councilman Larry Waddell initiated the project several months ago due to the deterioration of the facility’s existing concrete surface. Bids were taken and later rejected due to the cost.
The council acted on other matters as follows:
•Approved the payment of bills totaling $142,913.97 for the month of April
•Approved the refunding of a $23,699.78 street bond to Adam Davidson for phase two of the Ole River Crossing Subdivision
•Approved the promotion of police officer Herman Davis to the rank of corporal with a $1 per hour pay increase
•Approved $250 for a congratulations to Pricville seniors ad in the Hartselle Enquirer graduation section
•A proposed change of health insurance providers for town employees was tabled pending the preparation of a spreadsheet showing the advantages of making a change.
