Sudden gusts of high winds came through Hartselle and other areas of Morgan County Thursday evening around 5 p.m.

Reports of fallen or damaged trees and power outages came in from all over the county. One such report said a tree fell on a home near Eva School, trapping a family. Another said the roof of a building in the Shoals area had been blown off.

The storms lasted about an hour to an hour and a half and left a trail of damage in its wake.
