Essie Emma Crow Holladay

Funeral for Essie Emma Crow Holladay, 100, of Danville will be Fri., June 20, at 11 a.m. at Friendship South of Danville with Bro. Dan Compton, Bro. Wayne Penn and Bro. Don Gentry officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, South of Danville. Visitation will be Fri., June 20, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.

Mrs. Holladay died Tues., June 17, 2014, at her residence. She was born Nov. 17, 1913, in Lawrence County to Dr. James Samuel Crow and Dona Bell Miller Crow. She and her husband, Clyde Holladay had six children. She was a homemaker, quilter, gardener, hospital employee and caretaker of children and the sick. Mrs. Holladay was a life-long faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two children, Parris Holladay and Lyle Holladay; and her siblings, Coy Crow, Myrtis Crow, Evie Holladay, Hazel Holladay, Zemon Crow and Christine McKay; and her son-in-law, Bob Puckett.

She is survived by a son, Kyle Holladay (Barbara) of Danville; three daughters, Doris Puckett and Sonja Holladay, both of Danville, and Kathy Hildie (Don) of Florence; daughter-in-law, Connie White (Dale); grandchildren, John Puckett (Renata), Alison Mullins (Greg), Robert Puckett (Vicki), Richmond Holladay (Vicki), Scott Holladay (Brenda), Laura Shackelford (Jerry), and Amy Lasher (Fred); great grandchildren, J.D. Shackelford (Ashley), Elizabeth Shackelford, Anita Holladay, Ian Holladay, Lukas Puckett, Conor Mullins, Mattie Puckett, Rachel Ann Puckett, Isaac Lasher and Avery Lasher.

Pallbearers will be John Puckett, Robert Puckett, Lukas Puckett, Conor Mullins, Gregg Holladay, Sammy Crow, Anthony Crow and Caleb Lewis.

Honorary Pallbearers will ministers of Friendship Baptist Church.
