Funeral for Doris Taylor Battles, 79, of Cullman was Thur., June 19, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Phillip Hines officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Herring Cemetery.

Mrs. Battles died Mon., June 16, 2014, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born Aug. 25, 1934, in Cullman County to Henry Jackson and Vesta Overton Jackson. She was formerly a dental hygienist working at Dr. Vogel’s Office. She was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by a son, Gordon Battles of Cullman; a sister, Edna Schmalley of Cullman; two grandchildren, Bailey Battles and Brooke Battles; a nephew, Brett Schmalley; a niece, Lea Hall; and a host of cousins.
