Charter converting to all-digital signal Aug. 12Published 1:08pm Thursday, June 26, 2014
Charter Communications will switch to an all-digital signal on Aug. 12, causing customers’ television sets without a digital box to become inoperative.
The changeover promised customers improved reception and service.
“All digital means they will have a clearer picture, increased Internet speed at no charge and more channel offering,” said a Charter spokesperson. It will also bring about more video on demand options.
Customers who haven’t already switched to digital may do so by dropping by the Charter store at 1630 Beltline Road in Decatur and picking up a digital box for each TV set in the home. Depending on the level of service, the first box is free.
Another option is to order the boxes you need by calling Charter toll-free at 1-888-438-2427. The order will be shipped and should arrive at your home within five to seven days, complete with installation instructions.
Or, you can call the Charter toll-free number and request a Charter service representative to bring a box to your home and install it. The charge for this service is $29.99.
