Junior hockey arrives next month

The Point Mallard Ducks, Alabama’s first and only junior “A” hockey team is set to start in Decatur this August.

The Ducks will compete in the North American 3 Hockey League, and the team will conduct practices and games in the Point Mallard Ice Complex. Ducks Head coach will be Craig Bushey with UAHuntsville alum Ryan McCormack as the GM/Team President. Total Package Hockey will own the team.

The season will start with an exhibition game against the Nashville Jr. Predators Sept. 13. A home opener is scheduled for Sept. 27, and plans are underway for family-friendly events and special themed nights.

Tickets will be sold at pointmallardducks.com or at the gate. Prices are $12 for adults (12-61) and $9 for children (5-11), military and seniors. Ten-game and 20-game ticket packages are also available.
