Raines receives Doctor of Medicine
Benjamin Todd Raines, the son of Michael and Carla Raines of Decatur, graduated with his Doctorate of Medicine from The University of Alabama at Birmingham May 18.
Over the past four years, Todd has been published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine and The Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. Todd was the 2013 recipient of the O’Donoghue Sports Injury Award, the nation’s highest award in orthopedic sports medicine research.
He recently began a five-year orthopedic surgery residency at The University of Missouri, with current interests in sports medicine and spine surgery. Todd received a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training and a master’s degree in Health Education and Health Promotion from The University of Alabama.
Todd is the grandson of the late Leon and Carolyn Raines of Decatur and the late Carl and Betty Clifton of Priceville.
