Whitaker, McKelvey to wed
Gaylon and Lisa Whitaker of Addison are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lacy Diana Whitaker, to Matthew Ryan McKelvey, son of Dewayne and Patti McKelvey of Trinity.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Keith and Dorothy Jones Wilkins of Addison and the late James Earl and Mava Posey Whitaker of Addison.
Miss Whitaker is a 2001 graduate of Addison High School and a 2005 graduate of The University of Alabama where she received a bachelor’s degree in human environmental sciences with a minor in marketing. He was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta honor society. In 2010, she also earned an associate degree in respiratory therapy at Wallace State Community College. She is currently employed with Huntsville Hospital as a registered respiratory therapist.
The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Chester and Nelma Jones of Trinity, Mrs. Peggy Gentry of Moulton and Mr. Farrell McKelvey of Tuscaloosa.
Mr. McKelvey is a 1999 graduate of Hartselle High School and a 2005 graduate of the University of North Alabama, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration and fitness management. He is currently employed by URS Federal Services at Redstone Arsenal as a HVAC and controls technician.
The wedding will be a small intimate ceremony with family and wedding party only in attendance. It will be an outdoor ceremony on July 19 in the evening at Chapel Valley Farms in Cullman with the Rev. Chris Bartlett officiating.

After the wedding and a honeymoon trip to Cabo San Lucas, the happy couple will reside in Hartselle.
