Danville Road to close for repairs
A section of Danville Road will be closed beginning July 17for replacement of an old WPA box culvert.
The project should take three weeks, allowing for weather, and be completed in time for the new school year.
The affected area is approximately two miles south of Neel and two miles north of Highway 36. The detour route will be North Johnson Chapel Road.
District 2 Commissioner Randy Vest said the project is based on a recommendation from the Engineering Department. With the building of the pre-cast bridge last year and the construction of the new means bridge in progress, this should be the last deficiency on Danville Road in District 2.
This should allow Danville Road to be resurfaced if future federal funds become available.
