Officers from both the Decatur and Priceville Police Departments were dispatched to Windmill Beverages at 2931 Point Mallard Parkway in Decatur on a robbery call at 11:37 p.m.

Officers were told that a white male later identified as Todd McGee Lacey, 23, had struck the cashier and took an undetermined amount of money from the register when purchasing a bottle of alcohol. Lacey then forced another employee to the ground as he attempted to flee from the scene. Bystanders at the store were able to provide detailed information about Lacey for the officers.

Priceville officers Jason Wilbanks and Sammy Latimore located Lacey at 193 Riverview Drive in Decatur in Priceville’s jurisdiction. Decatur Detective Joshua Fisher with the Violent Crimes Unit was notified and responded to the scene.

Lacey was arrested on a failure to appear warrant issued by the City of Decatur July 11. Lacey was transported to the Decatur Police Department where he was then placed under arrest for two counts of robbery in the third degree.

The bonds for the two robbery counts have not yet been set, and the failure to appear bond is $500.
