Funeral for Kenneth W. Chaffin, 71, of Somerville will be Sat., Aug. 16, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Eric Mattox officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., Aug. 16, from 10 a.m. to 1 pm. at the funeral home.

Mr. Chaffin died Wed., Aug. 13, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born Dec. 19, 1942, in Morgan County to Louis Monroe Chaffin and Mamie Mabell Smith Chaffin. He was a small business owner, retiring from Tanfastic Tans and also formerly worked for Baker Transport. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, David Monroe Chaffin; and a sister, Kathelene Chaffin.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Thompson Chaffin of Somerville; a son, Reggie Sharp (Laura) of Decatur; a daughter, Donita Hale (Tony) of Decatur; three brothers, Spencer Chaffin, Sherrill Chaffin and Larry Chaffin; two sisters, Clo Chaffin Mooneyham and Joyce Lou Chaffin Pennington; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; twelve nieces; and eight nephews.

Pallbearers will be Dylan Burgett, Brett Mooneyham, Matthew Mooneyham, Jeremy Hale, Larry James Chaffin and Delbert Chaffin.
