Lunch and brunch group meets

Birthday wishes are sent to Danny Davis on Aug. 21, Eddie Johnson on Aug. 25 and Lilly Ferrell and Linda Childers, both on August 28 from members of First Baptist Church Falkville.

First Baptist Church Falkville will host a Swamp John’s dinner Aug. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. The dinner will be a choice of fish, shrimp, chicken or combo served with French fries. The dinner is $10 per plate. For more information, call 256-784-5827.

The lunch and brunch group met at Libby’s restaurant at Priceville. Sharing the good fellowship and food were Melba Nelson Kim Gibson, Shirley Turney and Wilma Depreast, Kathy Gray, Howard and Helen Gibson, J. L. and Ann Sanders and Ray and Betty Sanders.

Greg and Bekah Hill, Ali Fourth, Allen Summerford, Cindy baker and her son, Allron, members of Fairview: The Grace Place has returned from a mission trip after a week’s stay.

Fairview: the Grace Place will sponsor a golf tournament at Quail Creek golf course on Aug. 23. There will be a four-man scramble. Check-in will be at 7 a.m. Shotgun start at 8 a.m. Price per team will be $240 and will include 18 holes of golf, riding cart, lunch and awards. Proceeds will go to Paraguay missions. A community singing will be at Roundtop Church Sun., Aug. 24, at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome.

Members of Falkville Senior Center extend belated birthday wishes to Patsy Clemons on Aug. 2, Lilly Ball on Aug. 8 and Bobby Ball on Aug. 24.

The welcome mat is out at Falkville High school for Ashley Holmes, who will teach Ag and Jace Wildmon, who will teach the sixth grade. They are both graduates of Falkville High School.

A back-to-school bash was held at First Baptist Church Falkville. The event was for the youth from seventh grade and up. Finger foods, fun, slip ‘n slide were shared with 22 youth and their chaperons, Patrick and Jillian Smith.

Mozzarella sticks and sauce, salad bar, steak nuggets, onion rings, baked frozen vegetables, garlic bread, fresh oranges.

Beef nachos, salad bar, nachos, chicken filet sandwich, canned vegetables, salsa, and canned cinnamon fruit.

Wed., Aug. 27

Hot wings, Yumbo, broccoli and cheese, celery sticks, baked beans, canned fruit  and chocolate pudding.

Thur., Aug. 28

Chicken nuggets, salad bar, hamburger, creamed potatoes, canned vegetables, salad, wheat rolls and fresh pears.

Fri., Aug. 29

Baked chicken and white sauce, salad bar, Mexican pizza, frozen vegetables, sweet potatoes, barbecue, canned fruit and chocolate chip cookie.
