Renae Campbell, 46, of Hartselle is in the Morgan County Jail awaiting extradition to Tennessee after Morgan County and Giles County investigators executed search and arrest warrants at 182 NW Lawrence Road in Hartselle.

Sheriff Ana Franklin said that Campbell was wanted for attempted first-degree murder in the case.

Giles County (Tenn.) Sheriff’s investigators contacted Morgan County on Wed., Aug. 27, asking for help in locating the suspect. Franklin said Campbell allegedly went to Giles County, Tenn., early in the morning on Aug. 27 and attacked her sister with her fists and a knife, causing her serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Morgan County investigators located and identified Campbell, provided the Giles County authorities with her identifiers and obtained local search warrants based upon a Tennessee arrest warrant and a fugitive from justice warrant.

After meeting in Decatur, Morgan County investigators accompanied Giles County investigators to the Hartselle address, where the suspect was arrested.
