Lady Tigers pick up three wins in tourney

Hartselle’s Lady Tigers  nailed down three wins while losing four matches  in the Ironman Volleyball Tournament at Huntsville High School Friday and  Saturday.

The win gives Hartselle  a 5-7 record on the season.

Hartselle’s wins were recorded  against Hazel Green, 14-25,  25-14 and 15-11, Guntersville, 25-19, 25-13, and Riverdale (Murfreesboro, Tenn.),  25-22, 25-23

The Lady Tigers lost to Bob Jones, 13-25, 21-25, Brentwood, Tenn., 25-12, 25-12, Madison Academy, 24-26, 21-25, and Sparkman, 22-25, 25-20 and 10-15.

Based on cumulative tournament stats, Megan Zuck scored 29 kills, six aces, 31 digs and eight blocks., Kayla Key had 28 kills, and 11 blocks, Bailey Powell had 19 kills, 43 digs and seven blocks, Claire Forsythe had 14 kills, Gabrielle Bili had 62 assists, eight aces and 25 digs, Katy Beth Bole had 13 kills, three aces and 11 blocks, Madelyn Cheatham had nine kills, 17 blocks and eight aces, Jordan Barbrey had 46 assists, four aces and 26 digs and Hannah Warren has 54 digs.

 

Lady Tigers lose to John Carroll, Walker

 

Hartselle  dropped  back-to-back matches to  John Carroll, 21-25, 18-25, and Walker, 25-16, 16-25 and 9-15 , at Walker on Thursday.

For the two matches, Zuck led the Lady Tigers in kills with nine. She also had five blocks and  a pair of aces. Barbery had 16 assistsand 13 digs, Bili had 13 assists, six digs and a pair of aces, Key had seven kills B. Powell had six kills, five digs and an ace, Bole had four kills, Forsythe had five kills and five blocks, Cheatham had three kills and six blocks,  C.B.Powell had five digs and Warren had five digs.

 

Hartselle gets second win at Danville High 

 

Hartselle’s Lady Tigers picked up their second win of the season at a volleyball tri-match at Danville Sept. 2. While losing to Danville’s Lady Hawks, Hartselle defeated Curry in two sets, 25-19, 25-13.

Katy Beth Bole came away with eight kills and a block, Bailey Powell had seven kills and a dig, Megan Zuck had four kills, a block and two digs, Madelyn Cheatham scored four kills, a block and a dig, Gabrielle Bili had 10 assists and three digs, Jordan Barbrey collected 13 assists, three digs and a pair of kills and Kayla Key had two kills and a block.

 

No. 1 Danville takes down Hartselle

 

The top ranked team in Class 4A, Danville, defeated Hartselle 26-24, 25-16, 15-25, 25-10.

Sydni Shelton racked up 21 kills, 16 digs and two aces to lead the Lady Hawks. Kellee Stiles added 12 kills, 12 digs and a pair of aces.

Jada Harris also had five five kills and three blocks while Courtney Watts had three blocks. Charlee Anderson had 36 assists while Alexis Snow finished with eight digs.

Zuck led the way in kills with 13. She also had four digs, three blocks and two assists. Key had five kills, and three blocks, Barbrey had 14 assists, eight digs and a kill, Bili had eight assists, two aces and four digs, Hannah Warren had three kills and three digs, Bole had three kills, two blocks and a dig, B. Powell had 12 digs, three aces and two kills and Claire Forsythe had three blocks and a kill.
