Homecoming may be one game during the football season, but Hartselle celebrates the occasion all week long.

The festivities start with a kickoff event in the Hartselle High School auditorium presenting all the Homecoming maids from each grade with their escort. The nine Homecoming attendants will be announced at the end of the night, which were voted on by their classmates.

All week, students will be working on lawn decorations for each grade that encourage the Tigers wo beat the Red Raiders. These will be judged Friday morning.

An all-girl Powder Puff football game will be Tuesday, and the classes will battle it out in a competition of athleticism, teamwork and smarts on Thursday.

The competitions, dress up days and school spirit will culminate with Hartselle’s game against Decatur. The Homecoming Queen will be announced at halftime.

Homecoming week offers something for everyone. It fosters school spirit and friendly competition among classmates, but in the end it ensures everyone is cheering for the Tigers.
