Velma “Granny” Boldin

Funeral for Velma “Granny” Boldin of Hartselle will be Sat., Sept. 20, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Nappier officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be Fri., Sept. 19, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Boldin died Tues., Sept. 16, 2014. She was born Sept. 5, 1935 in Limestone County, to Mary Addaline Mitchell and Robert Lee Mitchell. She was a member of Rural Grove Baptist Church and was retired. She loved to cook and fish. Granny was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Grady Boldin, one step-grandson, Lee Cagle and her brothers and sisters.

She is survived by a daughter, Ann Cagle (Martin) of Falkville; two grandchildren, Dewayne Childers (Cyndy) of Priceville and Jennifer Phillips (Thomas) of Priceville; two step-grandchildren, Marty Cagle (Amy) of Hartselle and Brian Cagle of Falkville; five great-grandchildren, Josh Childers, Surrayya Sweeney, Hunter Childers, Emma Phillips and Nick Childers; nine step-great-grandchildren, Kelli Wright, Richie Wright, Isaac Cagle, Ethan Cagle, Kenzie Cagle, Zavier Cagle, Alexah Cagle, Katherine Riddle and Kimber Langley; one great-great step-grandchild, Olivia Langley ; eleven nephews; and two nieces.

Pallbearers will be David Roberts, Sam Reid, Rick Atwater, Joshua Atwater, Justin Boldin, Roger Boldin, Dale Free, Brandon Hawkins and Heath Hawkins.
