Flint Baptist Church, 4119 U.S. Hwy. 31 South, Decatur, is having their Fall Revival Sun., Oct. 5, at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m., Mon., Oct. 6, through Wed., Oct. 8, at 6:30 p.m. with Dr. Gene Williams, Evangelist from Conyers, Georgia. Gene Williams has had over 70 years of preaching, teaching and ministry. He is the Founder and Chairman of the Board for Concern for the World Ministries; he has led over 1500 revival meetings in America and 135 foreign countries; he was elected to the “Hall of Faith” of Southern Baptist Evangelists in 2008; he was the former President of Luther Rice Seminary and the Former Professor of Evangelism & Missions at Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary; and he is a member of the International Mission Board of the Southern Baptist Convention.

Oak Grove Independent Church, located on Old Corn Road, first church on left after Corinth Cemetery, will have a Celebration and Appreciation Day Sun., Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Special singers and speakers all day. Soul Harbor Missionary Baptist Church, 633 Cut-off Road in Somerville, will be having homecoming Sun., Oct. 12. Guest speaker will be the Rev. A. Ray Lee. A covered dish lunch will follow. The Glory Echoes will be singing from 1 to 3 p.m.

No Fences Cowboy Church is hosting events at the Sheriff’s Posse Grounds in Hartselle. Friday,  Oct. 17, at 7 p.m. Top 5 youth Rodeo finals and at 8 p.m. is Rodeo Dance night. Saturday, Oct. 18, starting at 7 a.m. is the Day of The Cowboy and at 7 p.m. is the Ranch Rodeo with Wild cow milking, ranch branding, trailer loading and wild bronc riding. sunday, Oct. 19, at 10 a.m. is Church in the dirt at Posse grounds and at Noon it’s Buck Out with all ages riding bulls. Events are free.

Pattillo Street Church of God, 1211 Pattillo St., behind Mr Henry’s, will have its annual community block party, Sat., Oct 18, from 3 to 6 p.m. Free hot dogs, nachos and  drinks. Shady Grove Baptist Church will celebrate their 125th Anniversary Oct. 19 with a worship service at 10:30 a.m.  Special guests will be former Pastors Robert McIlwain and Johnny Tucker.  Nancy Beasley of the Alabama Historical Commission will present a certificate.  The festivities will include special music, a presentation of historical pictures and much more.   A fellowship meal will follow the service, featuring many dishes prepared from recipes in our new Anniversary Cookbook. The Fellowship Quartet will sing at 1:30 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to attend.  Our present pastor is Tom Campbell.

 

Lebanon Baptist Church in Falkville is having a Swamp John’s youth fundraiser Mon., Oct. 20, from 4-7 p.m. Tickets are $10. Meals include chicken, fish or shrimp, sides and homemade desserts.  Eat in or carryout is available. Lebanon is located on the corner of Highway 55 and Barkley Bridge Bridge Road.

 

Good Shepherd, 3809 Spring Ave. SW in Decatur, will have its second annual market on the church’s front lawn with area farmers and artisans each Monday through Oct. 27 from 2 to 6 p.m. There will be entertainment and kids activities.

 

Soul Harbor Missionary Baptist Church, 633 Cut-off Road in Somerville, will host a trunk-or-treat for all area kids Oct. 31 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

Faith Independent Church, located on Bell Springs Road on Lacon Mountain, has services each Sunday at 10 a.m. for Sunday school and 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. for worship (except on third Sunday nights–no service). Pattillo Street Church of God holds Sunday school at 9:30 a.m. (classes for all ages) and praise and worship at 10:30 a.m. A Sunday evening service is held at 5 p.m. and a Wednesday service at 7 p.m., including youth activities. The church is located at 1211 Pattillo St. SW in Hartselle and the pastor is the Rev. John McPeek.

Salem United Methodist Church on Barkley Bridge Road has a food pantry for the needy. Call the church at 256-773-8030 and leave a message. The church will try to help those who are hungry.

First Independent Methodist Church in Decatur will have a men’s Bible study each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Hal at the annex building. Bring cans for the can trailer every Sunday or Wednesday. Proceeds go toward youth camp.

Cave Springs Baptist Church, located at 187 Cave Springs Road, with Pastor Jason Moore, welcomes you to Sunday school at 9 a.m., morning worship at 10 a.m. discipleship training and AWANA (babies through eighth grade) at 5 p.m. with worship beginning at 6 p.m. On Wednesday, Bible study begins at 6:30 p.m. along with GAs and RAs.

Fairview: The Grace Place in Falkville offers Celebrate Recovery ministry.
