Brewer is still searching for their first win of the season, as the Patriots fell to rival Arab 34-21 Friday night.

The Knights’ dangerous run game, led by quarterback Daulton Hyatt and running back Trace Pardue, helped Arab spoil Brewer’s homecoming night.

Hyatt rushed 15 times for 70 yards, including three touchdowns. Pardue added a touchdown on 13 carries for 63 yards.

Brendon DeBerry scored a 30-yard touchdown for Brewer with 1:15 remaining in the first quarter, but that was the closest the Patriots would be for the rest of the game. DeBerry sparked a late-game comeback in the fourth quarter to bring Brewer back, as he converted a 15 yard run, followed by a 50 yard punt return for a touchdown.

However, Brewer’s comeback was halted by a Kirk Johnson interception with 2 minutes remaining in the game.

Brewer has a bye week before traveling to Albertville next week.
