Time for pink
It’s October and that can only mean one thing – you’ll see pink everywhere.
That’s right, pink is the color representing breast cancer from the American Cancer Society. Breast cancer has been something that has affected us in some way.
It’s likely that we know someone who has been affected by this terrible disease. Statistics show that about 1 in 8 U.S. women will develop invasive breast cancer in her lifetime.
In 2014, an estimated 232,670 new cases of invasive breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 62,570 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer. About 2,360 new cases of invasive breast cancer were expected to be diagnosed in men in 2014. A man’s lifetime risk of breast cancer is about 1 in 1,000.
During this month, do what you can to support research to find a cure for breast cancer.
