Ralph Jackson

Funeral for Ralph Jackson, 82, of Hartselle will be Sun., Oct. 12, at 3 p.m. at East Highland Baptist Church with Bro. Walter Blackman officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Hartselle City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sun., Oct. 12, from 1 to 2:45 p.m. at the church.

Mr. Jackson died Thur., Oct. 9, 2014, at his residence. He was born Feb. 10, 1932, in Morgan County to Truman Jackson and Katherine Moon Jackson. Mr. Jackson was a charter member of East Highland Baptist Church, where he served as Brotherhood Director, as a Deacon and as the R. A. Leader. He enjoyed Construction and participating on Missions trips and Disaster Relief trips. He was formerly employed as a skilled tradesman for General Motors. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Anthony Ward; a daughter-in-law, Donna Livingston Jackson; a brother, Elbert Wayne Jackson; and a sister, Shirley Jackson.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilda Willis Jackson of Hartselle; two sons, Jimmy Jackson (Lisa) of Robertsdale and Keith Jackson (Lori) of Hartselle; four daughters, Janet Berryman of Montgomery, Patricia Ward (Tony) of Hartselle, Susan Closson (Tim) of Foley and Stacy Burns (Brian) of Cary, Ill.; three brothers, Bobby Jackson of Decatur, Jerry Jackson of Hartselle and Loyd Jackson of Talladega; a sister, Carolyn Watson of Decatur; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Joey Ward, Andy Ward, Jamie Jackson, Tyler Berry, Timmy Segars and Wes Stipe.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the East Highland Building Fund or to Hospice of the Valley.
