Crestline is revamping the attractions for its annual fall festival with the addition of carnival rides, including swings, climbing wall and a mechanical bull.

“It’s going to be so much fun this year,” said Amy Blaxton, festival coordinator. “We’ve hired a Birmingham company to bring in five or six rides that will accommodate both children and adults. They will be located in the large playground on the south side of the school where convenient parking is available.

Armbands will be sold for $20 each and will entitle the holder to unlimited access to the rides.

The festival is scheduled Thur., Oct. 23, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Indoor activities will consist of the usual book fair, silent auction and cakewalk.

A pumpkin patch and face painting booths are also planned.

A food court will be set up outside. It will offer Chick-Fil-A sandwiches, pizza, popcorn, cotton candy and soft drinks.

“We’re excited about the changes,” Blaxton said, “because we believe they will make more families want to come join in the fun.” This is not just a Crestline event, everyone is welcome.”

What about the weather?

“We’re praying that it doesn’t rain,” Blaxton said. “In the event it does, we’ll reschedule.”

She pointed out that the fall festival is one of the school’s main fundraisers. Proceeds will go back into the school and be used to purchase iPads for teachers and students.

“Our goal is to provide 25 iPads for each class level,” Blaxton stated.
