Shiloh’s Judgment Seat to be produced on stage
The Judgment Seat, a dramatic play presented by Shiloh Baptist Church, is changing from an eight-scene walk through drama to a live stage production.
The event will be presented on stage in the church sanctuary Monday through Thursday, Oct. 27-30, with two shows nightly at 6 and 8:15 p.m.
“We realized something this past year that led to the change,” said Michael Walters, minister of students and play director. “We reached a cap on the number of people we can serve safely and comfortably.” We had 2,400 people come through and another 300 to 400 that got tired of waiting in line and walked away. By moving the production to the sanctuary, we can accommodate about 4,000.
“The quality of the Bible-based production won’t change,” he pointed out. “We expect it to be better than ever. We have rented a $12,000 professional sound and lighting system and all of the actors will have a mic.
“We make this promise…we will make sure that you still feel immersed in the action, that you are not disconnected and that you see God show up in a big way.”
“Another advantage is no more long waits,” Walters added. “We will be able to seat 400 people at each show, This means you can bring your group, get in, watch the production, and get home in a reasonable, predetermined time.”
VIP tickets are also being offered. For $10 per person, you can skip the line and go directly to a seat of your choice. The tickets may be purchased in advance online at thejudgmentseat.net. Group accommodations for churches, schools and community organizations are also available.
It is recommended that parents use personal discretion when bringing children to the event. The minimum age recommendation is 10.
“The actors and supporting cast began rehearsals in July and have adapted to the stage remarkably well,” Walters stated.
