Jean Pitman Praytor

A graveside service for Jean Pitman Praytor, 83, of Falkville will be Sun., Oct. 26, at 3:30 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery with Pastor Marlin Harris and Pastor Clyde Crawford officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Sun., Oct. 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Praytor died Thur., Oct. 23, 2014, at Summerford Nursing Home. She was born Dec. 9, 1930, in Morgan County to D. C. Pitman and Ella Bodley Pitman. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Thermon Praytor; and a brother, Therman Pitman.

She is survived by two sons, Allen W. Praytor (Cindy) of Danville and Randy T. Praytor (Kathy) of Eva; two brothers, Truman Pitman and Vernon “Buddy” Pitman, both of Hartselle; two sisters, Aliene Eaton of Hartselle and Corine Smith of Falkville; two grandchildren, Allyson Praytor and Jonathan Praytor.

Family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Valley or to Alzheimer’s Research.

Pallbearers will be Marlin Pitman, Jason Pitman, Ricky Joe Smith, Gary Pitman, Jonathon Praytor, Scott Holladay and Jerry Jones.
