Jeremiah “Levi” Smith

Funeral for Jeremiah “Levi” Smith, 33, of Danville will be Sat., Oct. 25, at 11 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Francis Proctor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery, South of Danville. Visitation will be Fri., Oct. 24, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith died Mon., Oct. 20, 2014, at his residence. He was born Feb. 8, 1981, in Morgan County to Monty Robert Smith and Connie Faye Gibson Hood. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a veteran of the Afghanistan War. He was self employed with S and K Tree Service. He was a very loving, kind, goodhearted and funny husband, daddy, son, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by many. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Mike Hood; grandmom, Joyce Brookeshire; and two grandfathers, Harlen Gibson and Bob Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Ashley Kelsoe Smith of Danville; a son, Jeremiah Levi Smith, Jr. of Danville; his father, Monty Robert Smith of Decatur; mother, Connie Faye Gibson Hood of Danville; brother, Jake Smith (Annie) of Moulton; sister, Monica Smith of Decatur; and grandmother, Faye Gibson of Danville.

In lieu of flowers family requests that memorial donations be made to a Trust Fund set up for his son, Jeremiah L. Smith, Jr. Donation Fund at Redstone Federal Credit Union.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearer will be Levi Smith, Jr.
