Finalist for Player of the Week: Jaylan Jackson was a finalist for the ASWA Player of the Week for his performance against Austin last week. He finished with 215 yards and three touchdowns on just six touches. That included a 92-yard touchdown reception and scoring runs of 68 and 19 as well. He along with Jake Tiffin (12 of 16 for 249 yards and 2 TDs) were honorable mention in the AHSAA Prep Spotlight.

Offense comes alive: Hartselle dominated Austin by rolling up 562 yards of offense and rushing for 313, including 174 yards rushing by freshman Taylor Easterling. Tiffin also threw for a season-high 249, including another 25-yard touchdown to Zeth Malcolm, who also had a 19-yard run of his own. Tobias Mitchell also had two catches for 67 yards. The Tigers will need to keep the momentum going on offense heading into postseason next week.

Godsey closing in on another milestone: According to the Alabama High School Football Historical Society, Hartselle head coach Bob Godsey could achieve his 150th career win tonight. His cumulative record is 149-53 in 17 seasons with a 107-38 record in his 12th season at Hartselle.

Trojans looking to end season on good note: In the final week of the regular season, Hartselle faces a Hazel Green team that is hungry to end the season on a good note. The Trojans narrowly missed the playoffs after competing in a crowded Class 7A region. Hazel Green would like to end a very difficult season, which included the death of one of their teammates, with a win on senior night.
