A memorial service for Rosa M. Vaughan, 70, of Hartselle will be Sun., Nov. 23, at 3 p.m. at the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hartselle.

A celebration of life will be held in Middlefield, Ohio, at Russell Funeral Service, Fri., Nov. 14.

Mrs. Vaughan died Mon., Nov. 10, 2014, at the home of her son, Michael, in Farmington, Ohio. She was born Dec. 9, 1943 in Cuba, Ala. to Archie and Annie Laura (Grant) Crawford. In 1961, she married James Vaughan Sr., and lived in the Cleveland, Ohio, area from 1961 to 1999, when they moved back to Alabama. While in Alabama she worked for the Volunteers of America in home health. She was a member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Hartselle. Her favorite pastime was pioneering. Her hobbies include bowling, playing Scrabble, card games and cooking for everyone. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sibling Willie Brewster.

She is survived by her husband, James Vaughan Sr.; five children, James (Bonnie) Vaughan Jr. of Middlefield, Juanita (Legural) McCord of Tampa, Fla., Michael Vaughan Sr. of Farmington Ohio, Tommy L. Vaughan of Atlanta, Ga., and Rose Cherie Vaughan of Madison; 15 grandchildren, James (Jamie) Vaughan III, Demetria R. (Sterling) Gill, Dexter (Lu) Vaughan, Michea (Steve) Andrews, Michael Vaughan, Jr., Brandon S. Vaughan, Chaning Vaughan, Alexis Brown, Devin Brown, Justin Brown, Cody M. Vaughan, Brittani Williams, Whitney (John) Robinson, Trenton Vaughan and Ke’Shawn Vaughan; 21 great grandchildren; and her siblings, Robert Crawford Sr., Dora M. Crawford, Willie Ann Crawford, Christine Crawford, Shirley Crawford, Arthur Mae Watkins, Rosie Rice, Essie M. Thomas and Joyce A. Thomas.
