Danville Hawks go 1-2 in holiday tournament

Danville’s Hawks competed in the Marx Optical Thanksgiving Tournament at Priceville Nov. 26 and 28, winning one game and losing two

The Hawks defeated Ardmore 64-56 in the first of two games played on Nov. 26.

Brandon McCormick’s 15 points paced the Hawks against Ardmore. Drew Fitzgerald followed with 13 points, Andres Cordova scored 12 points and Preston Butler had 10.

Perry Waynesmond led Ardmore with 14 points, Dominic Clemons had 13 and Zach Clemons added 20.

The Hawk dropped a 45-31 decision to West Limestone Nov. 26 and lost to East Limestone by a 50-45 score on Nov. 28.

Andres. Cordova led the Hawks in scoring against West Limestone with 11 points. Alan Cordova added 9 points.

H. Morgan scored 12 points for the winners while F. Griffin added 10 points.

Against East Limestone, Danville’s Preston led the Hawks in scoring with 17 points. Andres Cordova followed with 12 points while Drew Fitzgerald had 7 points.

Devin Davis paced the winners with 15 points. Deontae Griffin added 13 points.

 

Danville Boys 61, Falkville 56

 

Danville’s Hawks overcame a first quarter deficit and went on to defeat Falkville’s Blue Devils, 61-56, at home November 21.

Falkville was up 12-5 after one period but fell behind in the second quarter and trialed 26-35 at halftime. The Hawks were ahead 52-41 at the end of the third quarter.

Andres Cordova paced the Hawks in scoring with 20 points and had 8 rebounds. Drew Fitzgerald had 14 points and Alan Cordova and Brandon McCormick each had 7 points.  Isaiah Moor had eight rebounds.
